Right after the catastrophic explosions in Beirut Port, the Starbucks Foundation has committed $100,000 to support disaster relief and rebuilding efforts on the ground. The funding will be distributed to a number of organizations with the goal of giving immediate relief and supporting the city’s recovery, with a specific emphasis on food and shelter.
The Starbucks Foundation will immediately donate $75,000 to CARE International who are working to provide shelter and other immediate assistance to homeless families, then $25,000 to World Central Kitchen who are serving more than 10,000 meals daily to people at local hospitals, volunteers and community organizations.
