The Board of Directors of the Boao Forum for Asia adopted a resolution the other day, appointing Ambassador Zhang Jun as Secretary General. Chairman Ban Ki-moon, on behalf of the Board of Directors, congratulated Ambassador Zhang Jun on this new posting and welcomed him to the Boao Family.
Secretary General Zhang was the Chinese Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations before joining BFA. With rich experiences in world affairs and international institutions, he is widely expected to lead the work of the BFA secretariat onto a higher level.
