The park is divided into two sections, the Shenzhen Bay Coastal Recreation Zone (深圳湾滨海休闲带) on its southwest side and the Mangrove Coastal Ecological Park (红树林海滨生态公园) on its eastern side. The latter neighbors the Neilingding Futian Mangrove Nature Reserve, known for its mangrove trees and is a habitat for numerous endangered bird species.

The nearest subway station to this park is Shenzhen Bay Park on Line 9. It is also easily approachable by car from Futian and Shekou.

Bird photography enthusiasts gather at this time of the year to photograph birds.
